Is pain or injury limiting you from climbing?

If you have found your way to this page, it’s likely that you are dealing with an injury that we can help you with.

Are you unsure about how to fix your injury?

Have you tried a variety of treatments but are still in pain?

Many of our patients find us after being told by their physician they “just need to rest,” but when returning to the activities they love their pain would return as well.

Other times, patients have been prescribed “pain pills” or muscle relaxers to help reduce their pain, but fear of becoming dependent on them and lack of long term relief often leaves them lost in their own recovery.

Some have tried physical therapy before but found themselves doing the same exercises over and over again while the physical therapist rushed from one patient to the next. Instead of getting hands-on manual therapy and 1-on-1 time with the physical therapist, they found themselves with an aide or alone most of the time.

Several patients have seen personal trainers to help fix their injuries. While those professionals were well intentioned, they didn’t have the training or legal scope of practice to diagnose and treat complex pain/injuries.

Some patients had surgery, which unfortunately didn’t solve the problem, and in some cases made them feel even worse.

If you can relate to any of the above statements…

You are not alone.

Playing competitive soccer growing up, Q pursued becoming a physical therapist to find solutions to his own injuries. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, he furthered his education by attending San Diego State University to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

While in San Diego he was exposed to a physical therapy style that highlighted 3-Dimensional movement called Applied Functional Science. Recognizing how valuable this method was to improving human function, Q expanded his physical therapy knowledge by completing fellowship training and is now recognized as a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS) through the Gray Institute.

After coming back home to Austin, Q was introduced to the sport of climbing. As with many climbers, what started out as a hobby turned into a lifestyle. Combining his passion of physical therapy with the sport of climbing, Q aims to help climbers quickly recover from injuries without using pain medications, injections, or surgeries.
